Kelly Simpson
H.A.R.P. Founder, Executive Director
Kelly Simpson is nationally recognized for promoting healthy marriages. She founded two Healthy Marriage entities that are successful federal HMI grant recipients, the Alliance for North Texas Healthy and Effective Marriages (ANTHEM) in Dallas and the Hispanic Active Relationships Project (HARP) in Cameron County. A lecturer and faculty member of the 2001 State Bar of Texas Advanced Family Law Seminar, her most recent work includes professional trainings for the U.S. Army, U.S. Air Force (Europe), and the U.S. National Guard. She serves as a healthy marriage technical consultant for HIAS, a national refugee organization. Simpson authored numerous articles and has been featured on NBC Nightly News, FOX News, CBS, and NPR; and in media including Wall Street Journal, Psychology Today, the Dallas Morning News.
Ms. Simpson is a Texas certified K-12 teacher with a B.S. in Communication after attending UT Austin and graduating from Texas Women’s University with honors. She taught classes for hearing impaired K-12 in Mesquite ISD and in Dallas ISD for seven years. Graduating from SMU, with an MA in Psychology, she was inducted into the National Honor Society for Psychology. Post-graduate work was in the field of marriage and family systems, earning her a Texas License in Marriage and Family Therapy. Also a certified sports counselor, and having served as mediator for Dallas County Family Court Services, she has maintained a private practice for families and youth for over 10 years. Simpson authored Active Relationships curriculums in 2003.
